Top Wok

If you're wandering down Cricklewood Broadway and find yourself craving authentic Chinese takeaway, Top Wok at 74 Cricklewood Broadway, London NW2 3EP, is a name that locals don’t just know - they trust. This place isn’t just another takeaway spot with a flashy name. It’s the kind of establishment that quietly builds a loyal following by doing the basics right - every single time.

What makes Top Wok stand out from the crowd of Chinese takeaways in North West London? For starters, it's the flavor - bold, balanced, and consistent. Whether you're into spicy Szechuan-style stir-fries or comforting Cantonese classics, the chefs here seem to understand how to strike the perfect balance between savory, sweet, and umami. The wok hei - that smoky aroma from stir-frying on high heat - is noticeable in their chow mein and fried rice dishes, setting a flavor tone that’s hard to fake.

Their menu covers the whole spectrum of Chinese takeaway favorites: sweet and sour chicken, crispy beef in chili sauce, salt and pepper prawns, beef black bean, and of course, their special fried rice that seems to be in everyone’s order. But it’s not just the hits you’ll find familiar - they also offer vegetarian options like stir-fried mixed vegetables in garlic sauce and tofu-based dishes that don’t feel like afterthoughts. For noodle lovers, the Singapore noodles and king prawn chow mein are both well-seasoned and generously portioned.

Top Wok caters to night owls and dinner dashers alike. With delivery and takeaway options, it’s perfect for those lazy evenings or post-work cravings. The food arrives hot, and portions are far from stingy - ideal for sharing or solo feasts that turn into leftovers the next day. And yes, the packaging is leak-proof and efficient, something every regular appreciates more than they’d admit.

From a service standpoint, it’s quick and no-fuss. Orders are taken efficiently whether you call in or walk up. For those who want to customize spice levels or skip the onions, staff members are usually happy to accommodate, making this spot feel just a little more personal than your average high street Chinese.

The prices are surprisingly affordable considering the area, especially when compared to other nearby Chinese restaurants or delivery joints. Combo meals offer great value, particularly for those ordering for more than one. It's a great shout for a family dinner or a casual meal with friends, without breaking the bank.

In terms of accessibility, Top Wok is easy to locate on Cricklewood Broadway and is reachable by multiple bus routes and local train services. The storefront is clearly signed, and the entrance is accessible, making it a convenient stop for all.

One underrated aspect? The speed. Top Wok is known for getting your food ready fast without sacrificing quality - a rare combo. If you’re ever in a hurry but still want a proper meal, it’s a safe bet. And while they’re mostly focused on takeaway and delivery, the cleanliness of the prep area visible from the counter does instill trust. It’s that quiet transparency that regulars notice, even if they don’t say it out loud.

For those looking to explore beyond the usual dishes, the chef's special section on the menu has rotating offerings that can include things like Peking duck, sizzling platters, or seafood medleys. They're not always available, but when they are, they're worth the splurge.

Secondary search-worthy terms you’ll often see tied to Top Wok include Chinese takeaway Cricklewood, best Chinese food NW2, Top Wok delivery menu, wok-fried noodles Cricklewood, and late-night Chinese food London NW2 - and it’s easy to see why. This is the kind of place that serves as a reliable favorite for nearby residents while still pulling in curious first-timers who quickly become regulars.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, Top Wok might just be the dependable Chinese fix you've been missing.

We always liked this place, but in the last few months it has gone up a level and become our favourite Chinease takeaway in the area. Before it was a bit of a lottery, with some things tasting better than others depending on the day, but now food is consistently great and has actually improved compared to a few months ago. It always tastes fresh, and never too sweet, salty or greasy. It might not be the most authentic Chinese food, but its ideal comfort food. Even teheted leftovers from a takeaway here taste decent, that's how you know they use fresh ingredients.

So happy that they are like seconds from me. So far the best take away around. Proper portions, very tasty, no cheating. For £ I had great feast, unable to finish. For example, recently i had £ order in Thai restaurant close by - wings instead for higher price and super small mixed seafood salad £.. Done in mins, still were hungry. Top Wok - thank You!
